Maritime Group, an experienced newcomer
The ideas and knowledge of Nina and Karl Nordström, the owners of Sjösportskolan and Patrik Hedenstedt the former CEO of GKSS and GKSS Event AB gave birth to our new website and marine platform MARITIME GROUP.

Its main objective is to further develop and improve yacht charter and sailing events in combination with a full-service crew management!
The nautical training and education is as usual managed by Sjösportskolan, Swedish Maritime Academy!

Background
Sjösportskolan has more than 50 years of experience in maritime training. The company was founded in 1967 by Dick Berghede and is operated and owned by Nina and Karl Nordström since 1999. Thousands of mariners and "yachties" have passed our training courses and gone sailing with us. Sjösportskolan offers a wide range of courses and sailings in the near and far. Both Nina and Karl are grown up at sea and has always combined their sailing passion with work.

Patrik Hedenstedt has worked with sailing in different forms throughout his adult life. Patrik started Seglingsevenemang AB in 2001 and has worked professionally with ocean related events since. Between 2012-2015, he was the CEO of GKSS and GKSS Event AB.

The club produced a record number of prestigious sailing events such as the Volvo Ocean Race, Stena Match Cup Sweden, the RC 44 World Championship, M32 Gothenburg Cup and America's Cup World Series during 2015 with Patrik at the helm.

Since the start of the Maritime Group Patrik Pipping has been developing and manning the growing business of charter and crew. He is a very experienced sailor who has worked professionally on yachts around the world in more than a decade and has worked in the shipping industry, thus combining his interests with work!

Future
Our combined experience, knowledge and security are now found side by side at Maritime Group. Events, charter, crew, maritime educations and adventure sailings are our core business which we will promote and develop.
